The Preditors & Editors Readers Poll
As part of our overall effort to assist and promote writers, we are proud to conduct the annual Preditors & Editors Readers Poll. We hope that this small effort helps all publishers and writers on the Internet to thrive in what is still viewed as a highly experimental and strongly competitive environment.
The Rules:
- Anyone can vote. Voting commences 24 December. The voting form and weekly results are farther down on this page. Please remember that you can nominate a new entry in any category simply by voting for them in the write-in box.
- Anything that fits one of this year's categories that was published in the previous year by any publisher with an open submissions policy is eligible for nomination. Publishing within a forum or chat room does not constitute publishing by the rules of this contest. Such entries will be removed and their votes will be lost.
- Names and email addresses will not be kept after this poll is over. Nor will those be given to anyone for use in a mailing list. We use those for counting purposes to keep the contest honest.
- All prizes may not be awarded. In the event that a false email vote was selected as a winner, no further drawing is possible because all email addresses are discarded in accordance with Reader Poll rules.
- All nominations/votes are subject to verification.
- The Readers Poll ends midnight of 10 January (GMT). Readers Poll Awards will be announced in February. Should technical difficulties occur, the poll may be extended.
The Prizes:
- The entry with the most votes in each category will receive a beautiful customized GIF award similar to the one below.

Will there be a subsequent Readers Poll?
Beginning 24 Dec, the Readers Poll will begin. It will conclude at midnight GMT on each January 10th. The same simple rules will be in effect.
As well, we'd like to hear from our visitors as to what other categories should be included. Just send us an email with your opinion.
